Polish pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostela<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

It is widely known that the trail of Santiago de Compostela was of importance for the development of religion, culture and art, and related contacts between the population of Western Europe. The month-long pilgrimages from various countries provided a great opportunity to learn about other cultures: their architecture, art, poetry, languages, customs and what is important to us – music.<\/p>\n

Imagine a group of pilgrims leaving Poland – as they leave, the “Alleluia” of Miko\u0142aj from Radom sounds from the churches. The group then goes to Prague, then follows the trail, heading on to Germany, France, to finally achieve their final destination – Spain and Santiago de Compostella. In each city passed, they hear different music, groups of pilgrims from different lands travel with their own songs on their lips, some carry instruments, both familiar and new to our pilgrims. The journey gives countless opportunities to talk and exchange experiences. Cultures intertwine,\u00a0 sharing a common goal – a journey to the tomb of the Saint …<\/p>\n

sacred music spanning 4 centuries, Miko\u0142aj z Radomia, Cantigas de Santa Maria, Libre Vermell de Monsterrat, Lud\u017awig Senfl, Orlando di Lasso, Wac\u0142aw z Szamotu\u0142 and others. A concert with commentary. May be performed in a church.<\/p>\n
